What I like about this image is the mosaic effect given to the flame from the cracked glass. I also like the red glow from the candle and the stained glass. it really portrays a Christmas-like emotion.
For this image I used the close up setting with flash.
My favourite kind of image is where the light is behind the object of interest in a picture. This is a perfect example.

These are my favourite images. These really show how sharp and focused on detail the camera is capable of.
I put these two images together for comparison. I studied the differences of depth of field in each image. I'll be using this technique with a lot of my future images.
I had a new DSLR camera for Christmas, a Canon EOS 550D, so my next few images are simply tests to see how I can work with it.
This was the first image I had taken, on an outdoor setting and with no flash. I have to admit, I was extremely impressed with the amount of detail captured.
